Workshop and Webinar Terms and Conditions

Please sign up early, as my workshops are small so I can give lots of individual attention to each person. I anticipate each workshop to fill.

Please take a few minutes to read this page. I know it’s not that interesting to read this sort of thing, but it’s really important that you understand the terms of our agreement.

Webinars

Fees paid for webinars are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend a webinar you have paid for, you will be given access to a recording of that event that you can view at your leisure.

All webinars are recorded. Jason Weston, aka Jason Weston Photography, retains the copyright to these recordings, and may use them in the future in any way he sees fit.

Destination Workshops

Liability Release Form

Every participant must sign a liability release form before the workshop.

Your deposit of $400 holds your place. Payment in full is due 60 days before the first day of the workshop. If you are signing up within 60 days of the start of the workshop, then the full price of the workshop is due at the time of enrollment.

What’s Not Included

Transportation to the workshop site, including airfare and rental cars, is not included. Travel expenses such as passports and visas, gratuities, personal expenses, meals, and travel insurance are also not included. Meals during the workshop are not included.

Cancellation policy

Deposits are not refundable. If you need to cancel you can rollover your deposit to another workshop during the 18 months following your scheduled workshop. After 18 months unused deposits are forfeit. If you cancel prior to 30 days before the workshop, any money you have paid beyond the deposit you may either roll over to another workshop or have refunded at your option.

Cancellations less than 30 days before the workshop will result in fee forfeiture.

I reserve the right to cancel any workshop due to under-enrollment, or unsafe or undesirable weather or political conditions. If I cancel, your fees can either be rolled over to a future workshop or refunded, at your discretion.

Weather

I do my best to plan workshops in the best time of year for each location.

Nonetheless, weather is unpredictable, and we may not have good weather. Often, weather conditions that aren’t comfortable for humans can yield extraordinary photographs.

Friends who live in colder climates than I do tell me that there is no such thing as bad weather, only inadequate clothing. I don’t totally agree, but the point is well taken. Having the right gear makes a huge difference.

I do my best not to let weather deter me. Bad weather can also be a good opportunity for scouting. And, it can also be a good opportunity for working indoors in our digital darkrooms.

It’s very unlikely that I would ever cancel a trip due to weather, although I can’t entirely rule it out. Forest fires, hurricanes, flash floods and other large nature events could force a change in plans.

Travel Insurance

I recommend travel insurance. Things happen sometimes, and it’s good to be covered. There are many carriers out there. National Geographic recommends USI Travel (travelinsure.com), so if you don’t already have a carrier, you might check with them.

Limit of my liability

Jason Weston Photography will not be responsible for any costs generated by anyone (e.g. non-refundable air tickets or other transportation costs, equipment, visas, medical expenses, travel insurance, etc.), even if I have to cancel a workshop. Please consider travel insurance, and only purchase equipment you really want for yourself, or that you can return.

Thank you for your interest in attending one of my destination workshops. These adventures can be a tremendous amount of fun, and, they require some preparation. Please review each of the following pages to ensure you’re well prepared.

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS AND WEBINARS WITH JASON WESTON

DEATH VALLEY WORKSHOP – OCTOBER 13-17, 2019

Death Valley is a jewel, a land of shifting sands and deep stability. Depending on time of year it can be unbearably hot, or miserably cold. We're aiming for that sweet spot in between when it's comfortable to be there.  This workshop is currently under construction. I’ll have a detailed itinerary and pricing soon. If you think you want to participate, please contact me.
